Novato suspects accused of burglary at school

Marin County sheriff’s investigators arrested two people who allegedly burglarized a school in Novato.

Deputies were notified Monday about the theft the previous night at Loma Verde Elementary School, sheriff’s Deputy Stephanie Ware said. The suspects entered a classroom and stole five portable speakers worth $350, she said.

Detectives reviewed video surveillance footage and saw a man and a woman leaving the campus while carrying items during the night of the burglary. Ware said a Marin County probation officer recognized the man and investigators later identified his female companion. Authorities searched the male suspect’s home and found the stolen speakers, Ware said.

Enrique Ramirez, 46, of Novato was booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of burglary, conspiracy and violating his terms of probation. He was being held without a bail amount.

Marguerite Jorgensen, 53, of Novato was booked on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy. Her bail amount was set at $50,000.
