Follow-Up Series to 'Big Mouth' Will Have 1 Key Difference From Original
Big Mouth aired its eighth and final season one month ago on May 23, and many viewers are already itching for more content. Luckily for fans, Nick Kroll and his co-creators have new project in the works. As the teens of Bridgeton High School embraced the great unknown, Mating Season will introduce a new set of characters, primarily taking place in the wilderness.
Big Mouth followed the lives of New Jersey middle-schoolers facing the trials and tribulations of puberty from an adult perspective. Mating Season will instead feature bears, raccoons, deer, foxes, and other animals to narrate the tales of relationships in the great outdoors.
On Armchair expert with Dax Shepherd, Kroll revealed that the new show is set to come out sometime in 2026.
As Kroll ushers in the end of an era, one which began in 2017 when Big Mouth first aired on Netflix, it's clear he doesn't see an end to the cinematic universe -- which already includes the spin-off Human Resources.
Kroll, Andrew Goldberg, Mark Levin, and Jennifer Flackett are teaming up with the same animation studio that produced all eight seasons of Big Mouth and its spin-off.
"It’s like a show about dating and relationships, and stuff like that, so it’ll be interesting to start that. So I’m excited that we’re continuing that this team of people," said Kroll.
