Walmart Challenging KFC With Alternative to Popular Menu Item
Walmart recently rolled out a new item that could give KFC a run for its money.
The fast-food giant saw its chicken and waffles meal return to the menu in April, giving KFC fans exactly what they were waiting for after five years.
But Walmart is offering an alternative, and it comes in the form of the retail giant's new Bettergoods brunch-inspired frozen meals released earlier this month. They include a hot honey chicken and waffle breakfast sandwich.
The differences here are that the Bettergoods product is an actual sandwich and comes with hot honey drizzle, something the KFC meal used to offer before it was changed to a side-by-side meal with syrup.
However, those desiring a chicken and waffle sandwich at KFC can opt for the tenders to make it happen. Also, hot honey is available on the side in some locations.

Another major difference that could have hungry people opting to try the Bettergoods product is the price.
The KFC meal starts at $7, while you can get the Bettergoods product, which comes with two sandwiches, for $5.84.
The sandwich isn't the only brunch-inspired meal Walmart is offering. The line also includes custard-filled waffles, mixed berry-filled waffles, and a salsa verde hash brown breakfast sandwich.
