MTA Bridges and Tunnels to ban certain trucks due to high winds
NEW YORK (PIX11) -- Keep an eye out for weather conditions on Thursday, as severe thunderstorms could arrive in the afternoon, bringing high winds to the tri-state area.
In preparation for impending weather, MTA Bridges and Tunnels announced that empty tractor-trailers and tandem trucks will be banned from bridges Thursday evening.
The ban will begin at 5 p.m. and is anticipated to remain in place until around 9 p.m.
Motorists can visit the MTA's website for real-time updates on service changes.
