'Kennedy must fall': Chilling note written by assassin released by CIA

0

The CIA on Wednesday released more than 1,000 new documents on the assassination of Robert F. Kennedy.

One of the more chilling documents was a handwritten note from his assassin, Sirhan Sirhan, which said, “Kennedy must fall, Kennedy must fall, please pay to the order of Sirhan Sirhan.” The note later said, “Tonight, tonight.”

Sirhan is currently behind bars and has been denied parole several times, most recently in 2023.

Kennedy was a California senator running for president when he was shot at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles in June of 1968. He died a day later.

Earlier this year, President Donald Trump signed an executive order which release and declassified many documents in relation to RFK’s murder. Roughly 10,000 pages were released in April, and 60,000 pages more in May.

Kennedy was the father of Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr, who was 14-years-old when his father was assassinated. It came four years after President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas.

Kennedy Jr. said of the release: "lifting the veil on the RFK papers is a necessary step toward restoring trust in American government."

"I commend President Trump for his courage and his commitment to transparency. I'm grateful also to Tulsi Gabbard and John Ratcliffe for their dogged efforts to root out and declassify these documents."

CIA Director John Ratcliffe said in a statement, "Today's release delivers on President Trump's commitment to maximum transparency, enabling the CIA to shine light on information that serves the public interest.”
