A’s hope to avoid a sweep by AL West Rivals
Hoping to avoid a road sweep at the hands of the Los Angeles Angels, the Athletics face off in game three of the series this afternoon at 1:07 at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The A’s come into this game in the American League West cellar with a 26-43 record and face the third place Angels currently standing with a 32-34 record.
The A’s will send 29-year-old lefty JP Sears to the mound this afternoon. Sears is 5-5 with a 5.21 ERA over thirteen starts. He’ll face off against 35-year-old righty Kyle Hendricks. Hendricks, the long-time Chicago Cub is in his first season with the Angels. The Dartmouth grad is currently 3-6 with a 5.40 ERA in his twelve starts.
