Katy Perry & Orlando Bloom Reportedly Worked Through 'Tension' After Her Latest Career Setbacks

While Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have appeared to be nothing but in love in the past few months, new sources are claiming there might be trouble in paradise.

According to sources for People, Perry, who released her new album 143 in 2024 and began her “Lifetimes” world tour a few months ago in April 2025, has been frustrated with the reception to her musical comeback, and it’s been starting to affect their relationship.

“Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album. It made her very stressed,” the source said. “Orlando was understanding, but it did cause some tension.”

A second source reiterated those feelings. “She was also disappointed in some of the tour reviews,” the source said. “It’s put stress on their relationship.”

As a reminder, Perry and Bloom have been together on and off since 2016. They got engaged three years later in 2019 and welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove, in August 2020.

Prior to these sources, other insiders told the Daily Mail in October that Perry had been looking to Bloom for some good PR amid the backlash. “She has tried to sell it with her sexuality and use Orlando to help promote it with jokes about their sex life,” the source said.

In her episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, for example, the “Teenage Dream” singer got surprisingly candid about their sex life. “If I come downstairs and the kitchen is clean, and you’ve done it all, and you’ve done all the dishes, and you’ve closed all the pantry doors, you better be ready to get your d– sucked,” Perry said, per The New York Post. “That is my love language!”

Whether Bloom is onboard or not to join her marketing strategy, it seems the pressure of her career setbacks is starting to take a toll.
