Woman, 1-year-old found dead on Southwest Side
Detectives are trying to figure out what happened to an infant and a 25-year-old woman who were found dead early Tuesday on the Southwest Side.
Officers responded to a call to assist paramedics just after 3 a.m. in the 2400 block of West 80th Street and found a 25-year-old woman unresponsive in the backyard, police said. She was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chicago Fire Department officials noticed an open door and found an unresponsive 1-year-old child inside, officials said.
The child, whose gender wasn’t immediately available, was also pronounced dead at the scene.
Area 1 detectives were conducting a death investigation.
