Oregon State baseball heads to the Men's College World Series in Omaha
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Oregon State's baseball team won in the Corvallis Super Regional tournament against Florida State and will move on to face the Louisville Cardinals in Omaha this Friday, June 13th.
OSU has won the Men's College World Series three times so far since its inception, and is looking to add a fourth win to its growing collection.
They finished first in 2006 and 2007, beating North Carolina two years in a row, and in 2018 by triumphing over Arkansas.
In 2013, OSU faced off against Louisville and won. OSU's most recent victory in the CWS was in 2018, and the team can only hope to regain this momentum.
Louisville, on the other hand, has made it to the CWS six times but has not yet been able to claim a total victory. Whether this will make them hungrier for the win is yet to be seen.
Based on their score in the season so far (40-22), they have won approximately 65% of their 62 games played, an above-average score to be sure. OSU (47-14-1) won about 76% of their games this season, counting their tie as a loss, also impressive, and this experience may give them a leg-up over the Cardinals.
