Is a message being sent?

Many have questioned why aren't perceived "A" team players on the roster for the pre friendlies and the Gold Cup for those not in the Club World Cup? Recent rosters for the upcoming friendlies have seen major players from other countries come into their countries team for this window and then have them set to return to their clubs prior to the CWC. Excusing Wes and Timmy from all action with the countries team coupled with the omission of other perceived players makes you wonder.
