Naaz moves to strengthen oversight of branded merchandise sales

THE National Athletics Association of Zimbabwe (Naaz) has announced stricter measures to protect its brand and ensure transparency in the handling of proceeds from the sale of official regalia.
The move is part of a broader strategy to align merchandising activities with the development goals of athletics in the country.

Under the new directive, all revenue from branded items such as caps, T-shirts, jackets, and tracksuits will now be deposited directly into Naaz’s official bank account.
This is aimed at boosting accountability and ensuring the funds are reinvested into the sport at all levels, from grassroots to elite competition.

“We are putting systems in place to ensure that every dollar generated from regalia sales goes towards supporting athletes, purchasing equipment, and funding national competitions. This initiative is a cornerstone of our financial accountability and brand discipline,” read a statement from Naaz.
