Kevin Spacey Spotted at Cannes Film Festival Amid News He's Receiving an Award There
Kevin Spacey is at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and he’s getting an award this week as part of a “guerilla marketing” stunt in hopes of selling his next movie.
The 65-year-old actor was spotted in a tuxedo while walking around the croisette on Monday night (May 19) in Cannes, France.
The controversial actor’s career took a turn after facing several allegations of sexual misconduct, but he recently shot a new movie after winning trials that happened in both New York and London.
Kevin will next be seen in the British indie film The Awakening and his trip to Cannes has been orchestrated by the producers of the project, according to Variety.

The outlet reports that Kevin is receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Better World Fund’s Gala at the festival.
“The guy that runs [the gala] is a big fan of Kevin and I just said, ‘Look, here’s a crazy idea: if I asked him to come, what can you do for him?’ So it kind of happened organically,” producer Matt Hookings of Camelot Films told Variety.
Matt added, “A lot of people really like him, so you’ll have a lot of people going, ‘This is really cool.’ And then you’ll have some people that’ll be like, ‘What the f–k is he doing here?’ But hopefully the people who say, ‘What the f–k is he doing,’ when they realize why he’s here they’ll give him a second chance.”
An Oscar-nominated actor recently spoke out with allegations against Kevin, which the actor denied.
