Massachusetts man pleads guilty to attacking a flight attendant with a broken spoon
A Massachusetts man has pleaded guilty to attacking a flight attendant with a broken metal spoon and attempting to open an emergency door on a cross-country flight. Francisco Severo Torres, of Leominster, pleaded guilty to one count of interference and attempted interference with flight crew members and attendants using a dangerous weapon. The disturbance occurred in March 2023 on a United Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Boston. Torres was arrested at Boston's Logan Airport and indicted in September 2023. Sentencing is scheduled for July 17. He could face up to life in prison.
