Marshfield, WI, (September 28, 2024) – Fans filled the grandstands and drivers & crew members filled the pit area,  and the weather was perfect, making for a spectacular Chili Implement Fall Shootout!

With large car counts in many divisions, and one of the biggest Fireworks shows in the Midwest, fans were set to enjoy one of the more memorable racing events of the year!

In Super Late Model action, Ty Fredrickson set fast time in his familar #36 race car.  Heat winners today for the Super Late Models were, #99 Joey Stankowicz, #2 Jerad de Boer, #12 Mark Mackesy, with #93 of Dillon Mackesy capturing the Chili Implement Fast Six for 6 Dash.  Mackesy also went on to win the season championship in the aforementioned Dash Series.

When the evening began, three drivers were vying for the super late model championship, Derrick Van Dreel, Dillon Mackesy, and Jevon Guralski.

Leading the field to the start was Wausau, WI veteran driver, and recently crowned CWRA Champion, Mark Mackesy.  Mackesy grabbed the early lead over Ryan Kemnetz.  Mark Kraus moved his #9 car into the runner up position by lap 4.  On lap 8, Kraus over took Mackesy for the top spot.  Caution flew for a single car spin on lap 11.  On the restart, it was Ty Fredrickson, a Minnesota young gun moving past Kraus for the race lead, as Kraus developed front suspension issues and exited the track.  Dillon Mackesy, whom of which was fast all day in his #93 car, motored to the runner up position by lap 14 of a slated 50 lap event.

Point leader Derrick Van Dreel, a top three car all year, put his popular #12 blue race car into the third spot by lap 15.  The top three, Fredrickson, Mackesy, and Van Dreel ran status quo all the way to lap 31.   Johnny Sauter, a former NASCAR star driver, put his Coleman #19 car into the second spot with a pass of Mackesy and Van Dreel, on lap 32.  Dillon Mackesy and Derrick Van Dreel started loosing a little grip, allowing the #25 of Wyatt Brooks to crack the top three competing cars.  Maybe one of the most spectacular runs all day, may have been the #71 of Mark Eswein.  The Wisconsin Rapids, WI driver started towards the rear of the field and gradually worked his way through the large field of cars.  By lap 45, Eswein moved to the 4th spot, and was pulling on the leaders fast.  With a few cautions, and drivers restarting, Sauter would pull to the outside of Fredrickson on lane choice, but with the choice of engines, Fredrickson was able to motor ahead of Sauter by the time they reached turn one.  Once the field took the checkered flag, it was Ty Fredrickson getting his name in the Fall Shootout record books, with the feature win.  Johnny Sauter and Wyatt Brooks finished in the runner up and third positions respectively.  Mark Eswein and Dillon Mackesy rounded out the top five.  With his top five performance, Mackesy was crowned the 2024 Marshfield Motor Speedway Super Late Model Track Champion, his first championship in a SLM.
