COLLEGE Baseball North Dakota State 8, St. Thomas 6 FARGO — North Dakota State evened its Summit League series with St. Thomas on Saturday at Newman Outdoor Field. The Tommies won the opener 7-1 on Friday. ADVERTISEMENT On Saturday, the teams were tied 6-6 through 4-1/2 innings but NDSU’s Evan Gustafson singled in the go-ahead run in the bottom of the fifth inning and Dante Smith singled in an insurance run in the seventh.Bison relievers Landon Koenig, who got the win, and Danny Lachenmayer, who picked up his sixth save, combined to allow just one hit over 4-2/3 scoreless innings.NDSU’s Davis Hamilton was 3-for-5 with a three-run home run in the fourth inning that tied the game 6-6. Sam Canton hit a two-run homer in the third. Gustafson was 2-for-2 with two RBI, Jake Schaffner was 3-for-4 and Noah Gordon was 2-for-3 with a double.The Bison are 8-5 in the Summit League and 11-19 overall.
