Flight attendants reveal the gross reason why you shouldn’t drink coffee on a flight & the orders they’re judging you on
A FLIGHT attendant has revealed a shocking reason why you should never drink coffee on a plane.
Leanne Coy, who works for a US-based airline, admitted that she even “judges” passengers who order coffee during flights she’s working on.
Taking to TikTok, Leanne shared a video offering insight into her experiences working onboard and explained why coffee might not be the best option.
Leanne, known as @leannacoy on TikTok, captioned her video: “Adults ordering apple juice? Pop off. Margarita at 10am? Slay.
“Bloody Mary? Gross, but that’s your preference. Decaf AIRPLANE coffee though?”
In the clip, Leanne explained that “ordering coffee on a plane is a little bit sketchy.”
While she understands why some passengers or pilots need caffeine to boost their energy levels, she revealed: “You’re telling me you genuinely enjoy the taste of that airplane coffee so much that you’re willing to drink it – not out of the necessity for caffeine – just for the flavour itself?”
She continued: “Every time somebody asks for it and I tell them that we don’t have it, it’s never just, ‘Oh, okay!’ it’s ‘Uh, you don’t have decaf?!’ People get so mad.”
Leanne believes she’s doing passengers a “favour” by discouraging them from drinking coffee, before questioning: “Why do you want this airplane coffee so bad?”
Her video has gained attention, with many people rushing to the comments section to share their thoughts.
One person joked, “I drink coffee and if ‘that’s how I go, that’s how I go.’”
A second said they were “glad” she doesn’t care about adults ordering apple juice.
Leanne replied, explaining that apple juice was only added to the onboard menu a few weeks ago, and she thinks it’s “a vibe.”
Meanwhile, another commenter, who claimed to have worked in aerospace for over 30 years, issued a warning against ordering coffee on flights.
They wrote: “The machines are vile. They are disgusting. Only clean when they break.”
