How 'The Boys' Writers Are Keeping the Cast Guessing Ahead of Season 5
The wait for the final season of the popular Prime Video television show The Boys is expected to take fans into 2026. While the build-up to a new season of a beloved show always feels extremely long, fans aren't the only ones excitedly anticipating how the series will wrap up.
As filming of season five rolls on after getting underway in late November 2024, one cast member revealed that even the actors and actresses don't know how the show will end.
According to Screen Rant, Colby Minifie, who plays Ashley Barrett in the show, admitted the writers haven't given the cast the final two episodes yet.
"...Those writers really know how to do it. They actually haven't given us the last two episodes yet, but it's all building," Minifie said. "It's really building in a way where I'm like, "Oh my God, what's going to happen next?!" I can't wait to read those episodes."
While the long wait until The Boys' expected return in 2026 feels like an eternity away, it's still pretty incredible to hear that news about the ending. There's no specific reason given why the final two episodes haven't been released to the cast, but it may be that the writers are still finalizing how they want to end the show.
Regardless, if the first four seasons were any indication, fans won't be disappointed with whatever direction the writers decide.
