Assam: Prohibitory order in Cachar amid escalating tensions over Waqf Act

In response to escalating tensions and protests against the Waqf Amendment Act, Cachar's District Administration has imposed prohibitory orders. District Magistrate Mridul Yadav, acting on police reports citing potential public unrest, has banned gatherings of five or more people without permission. The order also prohibits unauthorized rallies, strikes, and the carrying of weapons.
