Popular Rapper Blasts Masters Over Bryson Dechambeau Coverage
Popular rap artist Lil Wayne took to X on April 11 to blast the Masters over its lack of Bryson Dechambeau coverage.
"The Masters blew it w this lack of coverage on Bryson!!! They gotta stop hatin on the LIV s---. This man is killin it out there and I can’t watch," the "Lollipop" rapper wrote.
Deschambeau, who signed with LIV Golf in June 2022, is playing extremely well in the 2025 Masters Championship, finishing Round 2 in second place, seven under par.
Lil Wayne's post has received more than 1.5 million views and struck a chord for many viewers, some of whom commented on Wayne's post, agreeing with him.
"After the round, 3rd place Rory is interviewed in Butler Cabin by a fawning @notthefakeSVP. While 2nd place Bryson is interviewed in the hallway outside the bathroom. But there’s no anti-LIV bias in @espn’s coverage," one person commented.
"Almost like they are pretty openly avoiding coverage for a LIV player… this is why their sport doesn’t do the numbers it should. Bryson is a young, tantalizing player that the majority of golf fans love. The PGA tour is an outdated clown show," someone else said.
"I agree Wayne. Rooting for Rory though still," a third comment read.
"I agree. No love for LIV players w/ featured group coverage. I don’t think they’ve even mentioned former Masters winner Patrick Reed by name. But they did do a great one-on-one piece w/ Bryson at least," a fourth X user added.
Deschambeau has never won the Masters.
