Man found guilty for fatal Del Denby shooting in 2024

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) — A Buffalo man has been found guilty in connection to a fatal shooting outside of Del Denby Tavern on Hertel Avenue last year, the Erie County District Attorney's Office said Friday.
William Quinones, 28, was found guilty by a judge on Friday morning of first-degree manslaughter and second-degree criminal possession of a weapon. He had initially been charged with second-degree murder.
Quinones shot and killed 46-year-old Madjid Elbert during a fight on a patio outside of the bar around 1:15 a.m. on May 7, 2024. Elbert was pronounced dead at ECMC. Del Denby was closed by Buffalo police within 24 hours of the shooting, but re-opened about three weeks later.
Quinones faces a maximum of 25 years in prison when he is sentenced on May 22. He remains held without bail.
