‘He wanted to work on…’ Former RCB player lauds Virat Kohli’s unwavering focus ahead of CSK clash

Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s (RCB) batting coach Dinesh Karthik has showered praise on Virat Kohli’s unwavering dedication. Kohli’s exemplary work ethic continues to serve as a source of inspiration for his teammates.

Karthik’s words offer a glimpse into Kohli’s mindset, highlighting his status as one of the game’s all-time greats.

“Even today, just now as I came out, he wanted to work on one more shot. At this point in time, to work on one more shot tells you the hunger that he has in his mindset,” the former India wicketkeeper-batter said

“He wants to just improve and keep raising the bar. So, he is a special player. And at this point in time, the way I see it, he is batting as confidently and as well as he has ever done in the IPL.” Karthik added

“He’s coming on some serious runs in the Champions Trophy. He’s batted well in the recent past against spin, especially in white-ball cricket. So, I don’t want to go too deep into stats,” Karthik said

The clash between RCB and CSK is one of the most highly anticipated games of the tournament, featuring two of Indian cricket’s most iconic players. Last season’s group stage match between the two teams ended in a thrilling finish, with RCB securing a nail-biting win against CSK.

Looking at the head-to-head record, CSK holds a strong edge over RCB with 20 victories over 33 matches, compared to RCB who have managed to win only 11 times, and one match was without any result. This makes CSK a tough team for RCB to play against.
