The Nation's Weather for Thursday, March 13, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Showers and a thunderstorm are forecast today from the
central Gulf Coast states into Tennessee. Showers may reach
as far north as the Ohio Valley. From eastern New Mexico
into West Texas and portions of the Plains, an elevated risk
of wildfires will exist, due to gusty winds of 30 to 50 mph,
dry brush and low humidity. Otherwise, general mountain snow
and valley showers are expected for the Intermountain West.
A few gusty thunderstorms capable of producing small hail in
the Central Valley of California are foreseen. Outside of
precipitation, warmth will stretch across much of the nation
from the Plains into the Great Lakes with temperatures
expected to be 5 to 20 degrees above historical averages.
Meanwhile, the Southeast may have temperatures closer to
average.
