Kim Kardashian Claims She Paid for Majority of Engagement Ring from Ex-Husband Kris Humphries

Kim Kardashian is looking back at her short-lived marriage to Kris Humphries.

If you forgot, the 44-year-old reality star married the 40-year-old former pro basketball player on August 20, 2011 and she filed for divorce 72 days later on October 31.

During the new episode of The Kardashians that was released on Thursday (March 13), Kim said that she “had to” surrender her 18-carat emerald-cut diamond ring as part of their divorce settlement, which was finalized in 2013.

Keep reading to find out more…“I didn’t keep that,” Kim said of the ring. “In order to divorce him, he said I had to give him the ring.”

She then alleged that she paid for the engagement ring while Kris “contributed a fifth” of its cost.

Close friend and jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz then reassured Kim that it was for the “best” that she got rid of the ring.

Kim agreed, but admitted, “I would’ve loved a collection” of her past engagement rings. She was also married to Damon Thomas from 2000 to 2004 and Kanye West from 2014 to 2022.

During the Keeping Up with the Kardashians reunion special that aired back in 2021, Kim admitted that she owes Kris an apology for how she handled their split.
