The Nation's Weather for Wednesday, March 12, 2025
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
From Washington to California, a large storm will bring
gusty winds, drenching rain and heavy mountain snow to the
region today. Blizzard conditions may develop across the
Sierra Nevada, with a total of 2-4 feet of snow possible in
the highest elevations. Thunderstorms will spread from
eastern Texas and Oklahoma to Mississippi and Arkansas
through the night, bringing the potential for flooding
downpours, hail and damaging wind gusts of 55-65 mph.
Elsewhere, warm and dry conditions with a mix of sun and
clouds are expected across the Plains, mid-Atlantic and
Southeast, while New England will be cooler. From New Mexico
to western Texas, low humidity, dry brush and gusty winds
will elevate the fire risk, with blowing dust possibly
reducing air quality.
