A £7.99 Home Bargains buy made my hallway look SO much bigger – but everyone’s saying the same thing about my DIY method

IT’S a tried and tested way to make a room look bigger.

So when it came to giving her hallway a makeover, Shannon decided to head to Home Bargains to stock up on mirrors.

She took to TikTok to share her clever hack, as she used the £7.99 oval mirror to reflect the space in her hall and give the illusion of more space.

Shannon began by working out the placement of the six mirrors, before using sticky strips to secure them to the wall.

She then stood back proudly to admire her handiwork, after positioning three mirrors on the bottom, and another three directly on top.

“DIY giant mirror hack,” she captioned her video, alongside hashtags including #hackitlikeapro and #renovationproject.

And while people were quick to praise her for the clever makeover in the comments section, there were also a lot of warnings about the way Shannon had completed the transformation.

“I used those strips for my small bathroom mirror and it came down,” one wrote.

“There is no way I would be using sticky strips to hold mirrors up, they will soon come crashing down,” another added.

“Good luck with those sticky pads, they ain’t that brilliant … but looks very nice,” a third commented.

“I would not use those! I made the mistake of using them! Didn’t end well,” someone else said.

“Don’t trust them to hold it up! They last a couple of weeks tops,” another warned.

“Does look gorgeous tho!”

“That’s what people are saying, I’m hoping they last,” Shannon replied, nervously.

While other comments came from people suggesting another way Shannon could add an extra edge to the transformation.

“They would also look nice the opposite way round down the wall with the wall painted black,” one wrote.

“Be nice with the wall painted black behind the mirrors,” another added.

“Paint the wall behind them black for a dramatic effect,” a third suggested.
