Russia expels 2 British diplomats from embassy in Moscow over espionage claims
Russian said it is expelling two British diplomats over allegations of spying. Russia’s Federal Security Service, or FSB, said in a statement quoted by the state news agency RIA Novosti onb Monday that the two diplomats engaged in intelligence and subversive activities that threatened Russia’s security. It didn’t offer any evidence. There was no immediate comment from the U.K. authorities. According to the report, a decision has been made to revoke the diplomats’ accreditations and they have been ordered to leave Russia within two weeks. The FSB last September accused six British diplomats of spying and announced a decision to expel them. The U.K. responded last month by expelling a Russia diplomat.
