Disappointed Anton Ferdinand exits Dancing on Ice – as famous brother Rio admits having ‘heart attacks’ over TV gig
DISAPPOINTED Anton Ferdinand exits Dancing on Ice after an ‘up and down’ journey.
The former footballer was revealed by Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern to have come in third place.
Anton attempted to skate for the crown on the long-running ITV skating show against Coronation Street star Sam Aston.
He also faced Springwatch star Michaela Strachan in the live final of Dancing On Ice.
However, the presenters revealed the public voted to send through the soap actor and the BBC presenter to skate the Bolero in the head-to-head.
Although the footballer looked disappointed, he praised the show when asked to reflect on his journey.
He admitted he was happy to reach the final after saying that his journey to the last episode was ‘up and down’.
Fans took to social media as they slammed the elimination, saying that she should have made it to the final two.
One fan raged on X – formerly known as Twitter: “Ahhhh really wanted to see Anton and Annette skate the bolero But he should be so proud of how well he has done.”
A second stated: “I like Chesney but Anton was the better skater, he ice danced better including doing the lifts.”
“You should be proud @anton_ferdinand,” stated a third.
As a fourth wrote: “And this is what happens when the public votes absolute joke that Anton was eliminated.”
This comes as as famous brother Rio Ferdinand admitted that he was having ‘heart attacks’ over his sibling’s new TV gig.
He admitted that he struggled to watch his brother as he skated for the first time.
In the end, it was Sam Aston who lifted the Dancing On Ice trophy after the public vote.
The soap star was crowned the winner after battling Michaela Strachan in the final Bolero skate.
