A man has been charged with stabbing a person on a CTA Red Line train near the Cermak-Chinatown station.

David Davis, 31, faces multiple felony charges for allegedly stabbing and wounding a 31-year-old man early Friday morning while riding a train near the 100 block of West Cermak Road, according to Chicago police.

The man suffered an arm injury and was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital where he was listed in fair condition, police said.

Davis, of Freeport, Ill., was arrested about 30 minutes later in the 1000 block of North State Street, police said.

He was charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, aggravated battery to a transit employee, attempted armed robbery, and possession of a controlled substance. He was also issued a citation for having a weapon on the CTA.

He is scheduled to appear for a detention hearing Sunday, according to the Cook County state's attorney's office.
