Liam Payne's Girlfriend Breaks Silence in First TV Interview After His Death
Longtime girlfriend of Liam Payne, Kate Cassidy, opened up about the One Direction star's death during her first television interview since the incident.
Cassidy appeared on the U.K. morning show, Lorraine, on Wednesday, March 5 and explained how she's attempted to go about the healing process since Payne died in October 2024.
The singer, who was 31, fell from a third-floor balcony at the CasSur hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Cassidy was initially with Payne in Argentina, but had returned to the United States days before his passing.

Cassidy, a model and influencer, admitted that she's "still working on accepting that he's not here anymore." She explained that she still refers to Payne in the present tense, as Us Weekly detailed.
“I find myself talking about him so much in the present tense," Cassidy explained. "I don’t even feel the need to correct myself.”
Cassidy opened up while discussing her support system, and also credited the immense support she's received.
"I am trying to do my best,” she said. “I have my better days, I have my harder days, but I am surrounded by such a great support system that I cannot thank enough. Having Nala [her and Payne’s dog] has helped me so much with my healing journey. I just couldn’t thank everybody enough, all of my friends, my family, for being supportive and helping me be productive.”
“I really am trying to be as productive as I can with not just being stuck in my bedroom all day. Doing small things like yoga, going for a long walk … I’m trying my best to do that,” she added.
