The landscape gardener was playing for Glasgow North United against Hillwood when he was knocked unconscious after smashing into an opposition player.

He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital where medics placed him in an induced coma.

Dylan’s devastated partner Megan O’Donnell, 23, told of her “terrifying” ordeal.

Doctors warned her the dad could suffer from a permanent mental disability when he wakes up.

The couple are parents to 14-month-old Taio.

Megan told the Daily Record: “The doctors don’t know what is going to happen and whether or not he will be left with a disability. It’s a long process and might take him weeks, months or years to recover.

It is the complete unknown right now that is terrifying. We won’t know much this has affected Dylan until he wakes up. It has been such a shock.

“Taio keeps saying ‘Dada’ in the mornings because he can see that Dylan is not there in the bed.

“We are trying to keep everything as normal as possible for him but it scares me to think that Dylan might wake up and not remember our son or our happy memories together as a family.”

A GoFundMe page has been launched to support Dylan’s family by his pal and teammate Brandon Imran.

So far, more than £7,000 has been raised for partner Megan and baby Taio.

Brandon urged family and friends to keep the dad in their prayers following the horror incident.

He wrote on Facebook: “Some people don’t know but Dylan Beattie had a bad football accident which resulted in him being knocked out and completely unconscious.

He is in intensive care, he has a little bit of a bleed on the brain. All I’m asking is for support for his partner Megan and child Taio.

Dylan is self employed so his family really need him. Religious or nothing, please pray for him. Love you mate.”
