All About Kieran Culkin’s Wife, Jazz Charton

0

Kieran Culkin is the frontrunner to win Best Supporting Actor at the Oscars on Sunday, March 2 for his role in A Real Pain, but he isn’t doing life alone. His wife, Jazz Charton, is always by his side — from the red carpet to the young family they are raising together.

There seem to be lots of laughs between them because life in the Charton-Culkin household never appears to be dull. The 42-year-old actor made that clear when he humorously accepted the Primetime Emmy in January 2024 for his work in Succession. “And of course, my beautiful wife Jazz, thank you for sharing your life with me and for giving me two amazing kids…I love you so many and so much,” he said in his speech. “And Jazz, I want more. You said, ‘Maybe,’ if I win. I love you so much.” Charton chuckled at her husband’s plea from the audience and the world was charmed by their relationship.

They haven’t had that third baby yet, but the couple keeps a lower profile by living outside of the Hollywood bubble which makes their marriage a little more mysterious. That’s why we have all the inside scoop on Charton and how she went from a private citizen to a life in the public eye with Culkin.

Who Is Kieran Culkin’s Wife, Jazz Charton?

Since 2018, Culkin has been married to Jazz Charton, a British-born former ad producer, according to her LinkedIn.

Per her Instagram, Charton was raised in the U.K. by her “single mum,” Corinne Charton, aka Coco. In 2010, Charton moved to the U.S. where she settled in New York City.

What Is Jazz Charton’s Job?

Though Charton has been reported as a “former model” or a “Foley artist” (a sound designer who creates everyday sounds for film and television) in the media. Culkin revealed that she was “working in the music department of an ad agency,” when they met in an October 2021 interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

More recently, Charton has served as an occasional columnist for the Financial Times, sharing glimpses of her personal life and why she chose to move to the United States. “I left my hometown of London for a fresh start in America what feels like a lifetime ago for a plethora of reasons. The most obvious culprits were my unhealthy childhood obsession with Judy Garland and the impulsive nature of youth, with the addition of a recent raw break-up,” she wrote in November 2024. “But, in truth, if I were to dig a little deeper, it was because I never felt British enough to call the city where I was raised home.”

Culkin & Charton Met in a Bar in 2012

In 2012, the duo both found themselves at the same bar in New York City — the meet-cute moment went exactly as you would expect.

Culkin took a shot on a woman who just happened to be hanging out with another man that night, but he didn’t want to miss out on the “most beautiful girl” he’d ever seen. “I asked if he was her boyfriend and when she said no, I asked if I could be her boyfriend. We’ve been together ever since,” he told iNews in 2018.

“I said, ‘I’m Kieran. You have an English accent. What’s your name?’” he recalled to The Hollywood Reporter. “She said, ‘Jazz.’ I said, ‘J-A-Z-Z, like the music?’ And she said, ‘Yeah.’ And I said, ‘Well, that’s f**king stupid.’” Of course, Charton loved his offbeat sense of humor and it was love at first sight.

Culkin & Charton Married in 2013

On June 22, 2013, the couple walked down the aisle while on a cross-country road trip. Their unlikely stop to exchange marital vows? Iowa.

In 2017, Charton shared a throwback snapshot from their off-the-map wedding day, dressed in their bride and groom best. “#tbt to taking time out of our road trip to get married by the side of the road in Iowa during a storm 4 years ago today. Still, the best pit stop I’ve ever made,” she wrote in the caption.

The Scott Pilgrim vs. the World star knows he made the right decision almost 12 years ago because he loves to gush about his bride. “I took a shot at the most beautiful and charismatic person I’ve ever known, and she said yes to a date with me,” he told The New York Times in December 2024. “Now I’m married to her, so I aimed pretty high there and I ended up with my best friend and a great person. I have two beautiful kids, and I want to be the best dad ever, so I work really hard at that.”

They Are Parents to Two Kids

Culkin and Charton are parents to daughter Kinsey, born in 2019, and son Wilder Wolf, born in 2021.

In May 2019, Charton announced her pregnancy on Instagram with a photo of an ultra-sounds and a hashtag gave away the conception night. “#theglobeswerefun,” she humorously wrote. Daughter Kinsey arrived on Sept. 13, 2019.

When their son, Wilder Wolf, was born on Aug. 17, 2021, he remained nameless for quite a while. “My wife wanted Wolf. She was fighting hard for Wolf,” Culkin told Ellen DeGeneres three months after his birth. “We found [the name] in the hospital the day that he was born, and we thought ‘That’s great.’ But instead of pulling the trigger on it, [we thought], ‘Let’s torture ourselves for about seven weeks,’ disagreeing with names before we come around to the name that we picked. ‘Cause, we didn’t know if we were having a boy or a girl.”

Charton Is a Cat Lover

The couple’s first baby was a tabby cat, Django, named after jazz musician Django Reinhardt. “My wife loves Django so much,” Culkin admitted to iNews. “She won’t even travel because she doesn’t want to leave him.” Charton’s love of music, family, and fur babies is evident! They’ve also added a sweet companion for Django, the hilariously named Wily Beans So-Crates.

She’s Often Spotted on the Red Carpet

From their 2024 Met Gala debut to the 2025 Golden Globes, Charton is always by her man’s side. “Imposter syndrome x100000000 but oh my what a night! What beautiful people, beautiful chats, beautiful everything,” Charton wrote in an Instagram post with sweet images from fashion’s biggest night in May 2024.

She made sure to thank Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour for the coveted invite and for “letting this imposter in.”

Her Tattoo Was Created by Her Daughter

Charton has the most beautiful ink with a sentimental story. Kinsey drew a flower on a piece of white notebook paper. To some, it might look like a scribble, but to Charton, it was art.

“And so, it begins… thank you @unotattoonyc for making my little lady’s art permanent,” she wrote on an Instagram post in April 2022 while sharing a snapshot of the tattoo. It was a magical mother-daughter moment that Charton will have forever.
