Stock market today: Wall Street climbs and heads for its first gain in 5 days
U.S. stock indexes are rising after a four-day losing streak knocked Wall Street off its all-time high and threw some of its brightest stars into reverse. The S&P 500 climbed 0.8% Wednesday. The Nasdaq composite jumped 1.2%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average added 188 points. Some of the stocks that had been beaten down the most over the last week led the way. Super Micro Computer soared after filing delayed financial reports, while Nvidia climbed ahead of its profit update coming after trading ends for the day. General Motors revved higher after saying it would send more cash to investors. Treasury yields held steadier.
