Alex Bregman Already Had ‘Motivating’ Meeting With Red Sox Prospects

Alex Bregman came to the Boston Red Sox as the missing piece to the lineup and support talented mainstays such as Jarren Duran and Rafael Devers.

The Red Sox will also see their top prospects impact that group this season in Roman Anthony, Kristian Campbell and eventually Marcelo Mayer. Those pieces all fitting together will determine how Boston goes in 2025.

Those players are already committed to getting the best out of each other and strengthening their bond in spring training. Bregman sat down just hours after his introductory press conference for an extended lunch at spring training with the top three Red Sox, as relayed by WEEI’s Rob Bradford.

“The guy just signed for $120 million and you don’t expect him to sit down and talk to three minor leaguers like that,” Mayer said, per Bradford. “We had a great talk. He already loves being here and he is super-excited about the future. It’s great seeing that caliber player sit down and talk shop with us.”

“He wants to play with us, so it’s pretty motivating,” Anthony said, per Bradford.

Bregman’s leadership for a young clubhouse stands out in his addition beyond his improved infield defense and established right-handed production at the plate. Bregman can make the engine go for the Red Sox in 2025 and mentor Boston’s next wave of talent.
