No decision yet from LA district attorney in Menendez brothers' resentencing case
The district attorney of Los Angeles says he not yet decided whether to recommend resentencing Lyle and Erik Menendez. The men are seeking release from life terms in prison after they were convicted in the 1989 murder of their wealthy parents at their Beverly Hills home. Last year, then-District Attorney George Gascón recommended the brothers be resentenced, immediately becoming eligible for parole. Newly elected District Attorney Nathan Hochman said Friday he'll make a decision on resentencing in the coming weeks. In a lengthy news conference he said he does not support the brothers' separate habeas corpus petition seeking a reexamination of the case.
