Sean 'Diddy' Combs' Attorney Abruptly Withdraws from Federal Case

0

In a surprising development, one of Sean “Diddy” Combs’ defense attorneys, Anthony Ricco, filed a motion to withdraw from the music mogul’s federal sex trafficking case on Friday (February 21).

The motion cites undisclosed reasons protected by attorney-client privilege. Ricco stated, “Although I have provided Sean Combs with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs.”

Despite Ricco’s departure, the trial remains scheduled to commence on May 5, 2025. Diddy, 54, has been detained without bail since his arrest in September 2024 on charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking. If convicted, he faces a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years and up to life imprisonment.

The defense team, led by attorney Marc Agnifilo, continues to represent Diddy. Ricco assured that his withdrawal would not delay the proceedings, noting that Combs “will continue to be represented by five other attorneys of record.”

Earlier this month, Diddy filed a $100 Million defamation lawsuit against NBCUniversal and Peacock for the Diddy: The Making of a Bad Boy documentary.
