Team India will begin their campaign in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 with a clash against Asian rivals Bangladesh in match No. 2 in Group A at the Dubai International Stadium on Thursday. “There are two spinners, the other three are all-rounders. I am not looking at them as a five spinners. Those three guys can bat and can bowl also. The other teams have fast bowlers and all-rounders. They say that they have six fast bowlers, which is good. But we work on our strength and try to run the team on that,” Rohit Sharma said in the pre-match press conference in Dubai.
The weather in Dubai has also been overcast over the last few days and there is a possibility of rain on match-day on Thursday as well. “In terms of the conditions, the overhead conditions, I think It’s not a massive difference where you’re playing in 28 – 30 degrees to a 10 degree or a 15 degree. It is going to be overcast – if it is, we have the arsenal to combat that if there are conditions which is helping the bowlers with the overhead conditions the bowlers are there to exploit that and the batters if we bat in those overhead conditions they exactly know what to do,” Rohit said about the weather.
For Bangladesh, the form of old-pros like Mushfiqur Rahim and Mahmudullah will be crucial in the absence of stars like Shakib al Hasan and Litton Das. Tanzid Hasan will look to carry his fine form from the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025 into the tournament as well.
