VIDEO: Teens lead police on chase through sewer
AUSTRALIA (KFOR) — "One in custody in the sewers," an officer can be heard saying in a video released by Queensland Police, after officers and their K9 splashed through sewer water in Australia.
Officers arrested three teenagers who police say stole a Lexus and a Land Rover, among many other offenses.
One of the teens, 16, was bitten by a police K9 during the sewer chase.
It started February 16 around 1:30 a.m., when police received reports of multiple breakins. When officers located the vehicles, a pursuit began.
Officers flattened the vehicles' tires with stop sticks. One teen was arrested in a field before two others led police into the underground drainage system.
Video at the top of this story shows an officer and the police K9, "Dallas," trudging through the knee-deep water before one of the teens is tracked down.
Two of the three suspects have been charged with a combined total of 19 crimes.
