I review products for a living and I ONLY buy Dunelm bedding – here are my picks of the winter sale

0

I — AND anyone who knows me — would readily admit that I have expensive taste.

However, one thing I refuse to spend a lot of money on is bedding, thanks to a) my love of drinking coffee in bed on Sunday mornings and b) my habit of spilling coffee in bed on Sunday mornings.

I have been all-in on Dunelm bedding since last year

Shop bedding in the Dunelm sale

Thankfully, Dunelm and its assortment of bargain bedding exists.

The high-street retailer knows its way around a bedding dupe, and I’m a sucker for it every time.

My interest was first piqued last year when the retailer discounted this sage Catherine Lansfield bedding, which was a toned-down version of this glorious ruched GATA bedding without the $300 price tag (it’s over $400 if you want pillowcases).

Then for Christmas, I treated myself to this Portloe Gingham Bedding in the shade Natural, which has a remarkable resemblance to this £189 Piglet in Bed duvet cover.

Unfortunately, neither of these sets is discounted in the current sale, but there are plenty of gems to be found nonetheless.

Harlem Narrow Stripe Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set

Harlem Narrow Stripe Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set, £34 £17 (for a double) from Dunelm

Earthy, neutral tones like this olive green are super popular at the moment; it’s my go-to colour when it comes to bedding. The narrow stripe also feels bang-on-trend.

In fact, Piglet in Bed stocks a very similar design; admittedly it’s made from a more premium linen fabric, but at £189, it’s more than TEN times more expensive (and that doesn’t even include pillowcases).

The Harlem bedding is discounted by a massive 50%, from £34 to just £17.

It’s also available in a fetching gold colourway, as well as “butterscotch”; however, the latter colour isn’t on sale.

Cotton Linen Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set

Cotton Linen Duvet Cover & Pillowcase Set, £70 £35 (for a double) from Dunelm

I absolutely LOVE this porcelain blue colour for bedding; there’s something very calming about it, like staring into a pool of water.

I was originally drawn to it because of Piglet in Bed’s Celeste bedding, which is also on sale at the moment; albeit at £99 for a double rather than £35.

Happy buyers have called the colour of this bedding “gorgeous”, while another wrote: “Just the softest bedding I’ve ever brought and washed like a dream”

Felix Corduroy Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set

Felix Corduroy Duvet Cover and Pillowcase Set, £35 £17.50 (for a double) from Dunelm

Corduroy. Bedding. Need I say more?

I don’t like vivid patterns on my bedding, and tend to keep things simple with block colours; however, I love an interesting texture.

People obviously agree, as two of this set’s colourways are already sold out; the only set with doubles still in stock is this Mustard version.

However, it’s actually my favourite; after all, if you’re going to go for a 70s fabric like corduroy, why not lean in and go for a retro colour, too?
