Daniel Dubois given huge boost in rematching Oleksandr Usyk for undisputed titles ahead of Joseph Parker fight
DANIEL DUBOIS can put himself in line for a shot at revenge and the undisputed heavyweight title with victory over Joseph Parker.
Dubois defends his IBF belt against Parker on Saturday in Saudi Arabia having defended it by knocking out Anthony Joshua in September.
And the 27-year-old Brit has already made it known that he wants to rematch Oleksandr Usyk if he emerges victorious in Riyadh.
Usyk beat Dubois in 2023 – after surviving a controversial low blow – and went on to twice defeat Tyson Fury.
He first became undisputed champ with his May split-decision win over Fury before having to vacate the IBF version to proceed with the rematch.
Usyk beat Fury again on points in December while Dubois was elevated from interim champ to the full version.
And WBC president Mauricio Sulaiman would support a rematch for all four undisputed titles between Usyk and Dubois.
Sulaiman told SunSport: “We were clear that the WBC would not put any obstacles for the undisputed champion.
“Very unfortunately, Usyk lost one of the belts. In our position, Usyk remains undisputed, but now Dubois, he’s the IBF champion.
“He’s gonna fight Parker, which is a great fight as well, and if they wanna do the fight against Usyk, the WBC will not be in any way opposing that because it’s for the benefit of the sport.

“But how long is that going to happen? Will he then be stripped of another belt? That’s a problem.”
Usyk, 38, was stripped of the IBF title as he chose to instead rematch Fury, 36, instead of fighting mandatory challenger Filip Hrgovic.
Dubois then beat Hrgovic, 32, before being upgraded to champ.
Agit Kabayel, 32, and Zhilei Zhang, 41, fight for the WBC interim belt on the undercard on Saturday in Saudi.
But Sulaiman insists it will not stand in the way of trying to organise another undisputed title clash.
He said: “We have ordered an interim championship fight between Kabayel and Zhang, so we will have an interim champion.
“And we will wait and try to be as flexible as possible for the undisputed championship to take place.”
