PROSPECTS SEE ACTION IN TALISAY CITY FEB. 18

TALISAY CITY, CEBU – Fight fans in Cebu will be treated to four pro bouts at the Barangay Lagtang Gymnasium in Talisay City. The card will feature three undefeated up and comers and one former regional belt-holder.

Joperson Trazo (4-0, 1KO) of the Chao Sy Stable will be pitted against Marlon Alejandro (6-5-1, 1KO) in the main eight round bout. During the official weigh-in, Trazo made the minimumweight limit of 105 lbs while Alejandro was at 103.8 lbs. Alejandro won his last two fights while Trazo will try to keep his unbeaten run.

Dave Peñalosa (17-1, 12 KOs), the son of former two-division world champion Dodie Boy Peñalosa, will make his ring return against Vicente Casido (6-5-1, 2 KO’s) in six rounder. In his boxrec record, Peñalosa’s last bout was on April 2023, a six round unanimous win against Michael Escobia.

Peñalosa suffered his only career loss in 2019, by unanimous decision to Lerato Diamini in Saudi Arabia. Peñalosa is a former WBO Oriental featherweight champion. During the official weigh-in held at the La Fortuna restaurant, Peñalosa stepped on the scales at 135.2 lbs while Casido weighed 139.2.

Rounding up the card are Jefre Jimenez (3-0, 1 KO) will have a six-round light flyweight clash against Cerwin Genosas (2-3, 2KO’s). Jimenez weighed in at 108.8 pounds  while Genosas registered 107.9 pounds. Vicente Unidos (2-0, 1 KO) vs Venjie Patac (2-10-1,1KO) – 6 rounds.  Unidos weighed 123 pounds and Patac stepped on the scales at 120.8 pounds.

There will be amateur bouts prior to the professional contests. This card is presented by Cebuano boxing patron Lorenzo “Chao” Sy of Chao Sy Boxing Promotions.
