Hong Kong, China dominate Women's Baseball Phoenix Cup

Hong Kong, China, managed by Sergio Perez Echevarria, won the Women's Baseball Phoenix Cup undefeated.

The world No. 8 defeated Nan Ying (Hong Kong, China), 11-9, Shenzen (China), 18-0, and Malaysia, 16-1, in the Opening Round and outscored Shenzen, 20-0, in the final.

Nan Ying beat Malaysia, 11-1, in the third-place game.

Hong Kong, China dominated the individual awards with Yin Sum Kwong, an 18-year-old shortstop, leading the hitters with a .750 batting average.

After a shaky start against Nan Ying, Kwong took the mound in the final and earned the win allowing only one hit and one walk.

Catcher Chee-Ar Lui earned best defensive player's honours.

The Baseball Association of Hong Kong, China (BAHKC), has held the Phoenix Cup yearly from 2008 to 2020 and resumed the tournament in 2023.
