New attraction, restaurant coming to Zoombezi Bay this summer
POWELL, Ohio (WCMH) - It's still winter, but the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium is preparing for the summer season with additions at Zoombezi Bay.
A new attraction and restaurant will open at the waterpark this summer, according to the zoo's social media page. Right now, the waterpark is still in the planning stages with its restaurant and even needs the community's help with naming it.
The waterpark has opened its live online voting on the Zoombezi Bay Instagram and Facebook stories to name the restaurant. Now through Feb. 26, anyone can choose their favorite name from the following choices: Beachcombers, Coral Kitchen, Reef Retreat or Shoreline Bistro. You can cast your vote once a day until the deadline. To vote, follow this link.
Along with the new eatery is the Conservation Tower. Zoombezi Bay says "the first installation of its kind" will bring fun for the whole family while celebrating the zoo's effort and dedication to conservation.
The tower comes with three waterslides named The Hive, Mussel Mayhem and Captina Falls. The new tower will join 13 other pools, slides and attractions at the waterpark.
Both the attraction and restaurant will be opening this summer, just in time for families to visit the zoo and its waterpark. Zoombezi Bay's opening day is in May, with season passes now available. For additional information, click here.
