Chilly and sunny today, heavy storms late tomorrow

Colder air with a light breeze starts off the workweek in Acadiana. Much of the area is feeling wind chills in the lower 30s this Monday morning. Highs near 59° later today under mostly sunny skies. Clouds return tonight with lows in the mid 40s.

Heavy storms look likely late tomorrow night, after 9:00 pm and should end early Wednesday. There is a low risk for severe weather and flash flooding. A few storms could produce damaging winds, hail, or a brief tornado. Rainfall estimates will be between 1" to 3" inches. Areas that see higher totals could deal with localized flash flooding.

Another arctic blast of air arrives for the end of the week. Hard freezes are likely Wednesday and Thursday night as temperatures fall into the mid 20s. Wind chills on Thursday morning could be in the single digits!
