23/24 Departed players - where are they now

0
Saw a comment on Twitter from someone earlier who said he’s not heard much from the senior players who left us permanently in the summer so decided I’d have a look myself:

Jordan James: Left for Rennes in France and has established himself a bit more recently. 13 appearances in Ligue 1 this season without a goal or assist.

John Ruddy: Signed for Newcastle as third-choice goalkeeper, as expected hasn’t played any games. Was on the bench for the FA Cup fixture against us a couple of weeks ago.

Ivan Sunjic: Signed for Pafos who are currently top of the Cypriot first division. 29 appearances in all competitions, has scored two goals. Switched international allegiance to Bosnia in November 2024.

Gary Gardner: Signed by former manager Garry Monk, who was sacked by Cambridge yesterday. Yet to make an appearance this season due to injury.

Marc Roberts: Re-signed for boyhood club Barnsley in the summer and was made vice-captain, having captained the club prior to signing for Blues. Has made 27 appearances in all competitions this season, scoring 4 goals.

Neil Etheridge: Aged 35, Etheridge signed for Thai League 1 side Buriram United. He’s made 24 appearances this season.

Alex Pritchard: Pritchard ended up being a strange signing for Blues. Signed under Mowbray, he ended up making only 9 appearances for the club, mostly off the bench, before signing for Sivasspor in Turkey. He’s made 15 Super Lig appearances this season, registering 4 assists.

Juninho Bacuna: A bit of a divisive figure at Blues - he registered decent goal/assist returns, but was often accused of laziness/inconsistency. He moved to Al-Wehda in the Saudi Pro League in a drawn out transfer saga in summer. 1 goal and 1 assist in the league this season.

Koji Miyoshi: One that I think a lot of Blues fans would’ve liked to have stayed, but who ultimately wanted to leave. Signed for VfL Bochum in the German Bundesliga in the summer, registering one goal in 13 appearances. He turned out 4 times for Blues this season before his departure.

Siriki Dembele: Signed for Oxford United in the Championship, now managed by Gary Rowett, after making a solitary League One appearance for Blues on the opening day of the season. He’s made 18 appearances for Oxford this season, with one assist.

Scott Hogan: It was pretty clear that Hogan’s time at the club was up, and I don’t think many Blues fans were sad to see him go. Hogan spent some time as a free agent before signing for everybody’s favourite League 2 side MK Dons in October. He’s made 21 league appearances this season, scoring 6 goals.
