‘Thought it was B&M’ people in hysterics after spotting house that’s been painted exactly like the discount store

WHO doesn’t love a cheeky trip to B&M to snap up dozens of cut-price bargains?

But would you ever be so devoted to the popular discount store that you’d be willing to paint your house that it looked like a copy of B&M?

Residents and visitors of Westward Ho! have gone totally wild after spotting a seaside house they say resemble B&M

Many viewers admitted to have mistaken the house for B&M[/caption]

It seems that this is exactly what one resident of Westward Ho!, near Bideford in Devon, has done, giving their home one epic makeover.

The vibrant blue house, which has since taken TikTok by storm, is situated next to a baby pink property.

However, what truly makes it stand out are the orange lines on the side of the house – which look an awful lot like the iconic B&M logo.

Although some social media users may assume that the owner may have tried to go for a sun-inspired aesthetic, there’s no denying that the colour match is perfect.

It’s not yet known who lives or owns the seaside property – or whether it’s vacant.

But one thing is for sure – the internet users are totally obsessed with the blue and orange house after one person, Katie Dunley, 24, posted a clip zooming into the fun pad.

”live, laugh, love, b&m,” she joked in the caption of the clip, which has since racked up close to 460k views in just one day.

Hundreds of viewers were left totally amused , as they flocked to comments in stitches.

One admitted: ”Thought it was B&M at first look.”

Another chuckled: ”I love how b&m are becoming more accessible with their smaller stores.”

”I think this is in westward ho, last time I went there I remember seeing this in the distance thinking it was a shop,” a third added.

”Now b&m do houses,” a fourth chimed in.

Is B&M your favourite weekend destination too? But have you ever wondered what the famous two letters actually stand for?

Most of us haven’t stopped to think about the details but Ryan Kent did and now people can’t believe what he found out.

How to save money at B&M

Shoppers have saved hundreds of pounds a year by using B&M's scanner app.

The scanner lets you see if an item’s price is cheaper than advertised on the shop floor label.

Products that are typically discounted are seasonal items and old stock that B&M is trying to shift.

The app is free to download off the B&M Stores mobile app via Google Play or the Apple App Store.

According to one ex-B&M manager, you’ll want to visit your local branch at 10am on a Wednesday too.

Here’s how you can join the B&M bargain hunt:

  • Download the B&M app for free on any smartphone with an App Store or Google Play.
  • Once you’ve installed it on your device, click on the option labelled “more” on the bottom, right-hand side of the app home page.
  • You’ll then find an option that says “barcode scanner”. Click on this and you’ll open a camera screen.
  • Use the camera to hover over the barcode of the product you wish to check.
  • If the price comes up as lower, take it to the cash desk and it will automatically scan at the lower price.
  • You don’t need to sign up to the B&M app to use the barcode scanner.

In his video user ryankenttt revealed the real names of some of the UK’s biggest high street stores including the mega discount retailer.

And it turns out that the homeware store was initially known as Billington & Mayman, which doesn’t quite roll off the tongue like B&M.

The name derived from the man behind the business, Malcolm Billington and Mayman who was a partner in the business – but was shortened to B&M.

However, several B&M workers have disputed this on social media with some arguing it stands for Bargains & More.

Previous reports have also suggested that B&M was short for Bargain Madness.

But a spokesperson for B&M has previously confirmed that it does indeed stand for Billington & Mayman.
