Senior's admonition at workplace not criminal offence: SC

The Supreme Court has ruled that a senior's admonition in the workplace does not qualify as an 'intentional insult' warranting criminal proceedings. The decision stems from a case where the officiating director of an institute was accused of insulting an assistant professor. Mere discourtesy does not meet the criteria of Section 504 IPC, the court stated.
