Meet Aaryan Shukla, ‘Human Calculator’ who broke six world records in just…, he is from…
Indians are making their country proud by making remarkable achievements across various fields. According to the Guinness World Records Kids, Aaryan Shukla, a 14-year-old math prodigy from Maharashtra, astonished a large audience by achieving the record for the fastest time to mentally add 50 five-digit numbers on the set of Italian TV show Lo Show Dei Record. Known as the ‘Human Calculator,’ Aaryan Shukla accomplished this feat in just 25.19 seconds, averaging one addition every half a second.
Recently, Guinness World Records invited him to Dubai to take on some of the most challenging mental calculation records ever attempted. In just a single day, Aaryan Shukla shattered six world records for lightning-fast mental calculations:
- Fastest time to mentally add 100 4-digit numbers – 30.9 sec
- Fastest time to mentally add 200 4-digit numbers – 1 min 9.68 sec
- Fastest time to mentally add 50 5-digit numbers – 18.71 sec
- Fastest time to mentally divide a 20-digit number by a 10-digit number (set of 10) – 5 min 42 sec
- Fastest time to mentally multiply 10 sets of 2 5-digit numbers – 51.69 sec
- Fastest time to mentally multiply 10 sets of 2 8-digit numbers – 2 min 35.41 sec
While speaking to Guinness World Records(GWR) Kids, Aaryan shared what goes on in his mind during those intense moments. “A lot of things in mental calculations happen in a flash of a second, so I cannot say what happens inside my head, […] I just do it naturally. Basically, it’s so fast that you can’t think, you just need to do the calculations,” Aaryan was quoted as saying to GWR Kids.
Meanwhile, yoga keeps him relaxed.
Speaking of his hobbies, Aaryan loves reading books, especially adventure and mystery genres. He enjoys playing video games and cricket. His parents recognized his exceptional talents at a very early stage. Aaryan’s talent was discovered by his parents at a young age.
“Since childhood, he was very good […] with numbers. He enjoyed studying and playing with numbers. “At the age of 6 he started the practice of mental calculation, and he was very good, so we started doing some research on this,” Aaryan’s mother told Guinness World Records. She added,”
“ […] At the age of 8 we went for an international competition and he won medals and trophies, which were great achievements.” At present, he is one of the founding board members of the Global Mental Calculators Association (GMCA).
