Sarah Hyland Called 'Tyrant' & 'Terrible' by Former Co-Star Jeff Dye

0

Jeff Dye is looking back at working with Sarah Hyland, and he doesn’t have fond memories.

If you didn’t know, the 42-year-old comedian and the 34-year-old actress worked together on the 2019 movie The Wedding Year.

In a new interview, Jeff opened up about Sarah‘s alleged “terrible” behavior on set, claiming that she was “rude to everyone.”

Keep reading to find out more…“I did a movie. It was called The Wedding Year. I played Anna Camp‘s husband, so I’m on set for, I don’t know, 30 seconds, right? That’s how big my role was,” Jeff shared on the Thursday (February 13) episode of The George Janko Show.

“But in the time that I had to be on set, Sarah Hyland was the lead, from Modern Family,” Jeff recalled. “She’s, like, a pretty woman that chain smokes and is terrible.”

He went on to claim that Sarah is “such a tyrant” and “rude to everyone,” before sharing an alleged situation that happened on set where she complained to the director about the extras eating at the craft service table.

“Like, she was annoyed that some extras wanted f–king free granola bars, like it was in her kitchen or something,” he said.

“They’re all in this hierarchy of Hollywood where it’s like, she’s No. 1 on the call sheet, [so] we have to, like, pander to her,” Jeff explained about what it’s like on set. “If she’s mean to us, just let her be mean to us, and if she’s sad, pretend like it’s OK that she’s sad.”

Jeff also claimed that Sarah “hated me by the way,” adding, “Like just hated me. At one point, she said, and this is also a quote, ‘You’re what is wrong with people.’”

“Because I’m an actual man, you know?” he continued. “She’s not used to ever like, you know, masculine energy of any sort.”

Jeff went on to recall a moment on set when Sarah allegedly started “crying” in front of the cast and crew when she showed them the trailer for the 2019 live-action Dumbo movie on her phone.

“She starts crying to, like, let us know how moved she is by the Dumbo trailer, I just said — I didn’t even meant it, I just wanted to ruin the moment — I go, ‘Yeah, that looks gay,’” he said.

“She literally, if she could like have me removed from, like, a moment or anything, like, I ruined her little show, piece of, like, ‘Look how much I’m into the arts, that I’m moved by Dumbo,’ and I just wanted to ruin it. And I did,” Jeff said. “I ruined it, and she hated me. And I, you know, whatever, I was off the set the next day.”

When asked if Sarah rubbed the other cast and crew members the wrong way, Jeff claimed that she acted that way towards everyone.

He also alleged that he “checked in with everybody” on set and they all agreed that Sarah was “mean.” Jeff claimed that he and the others on set often joked about Sarah‘s alleged behavior, which he says brought them closer.

“I think, actually, people found camaraderie in hating her,” Jeff said. “Like, she was the island.”

He also said that he doesn’t “care at all” if he gets backlash for sharing Sarah‘s alleged “rude” behavior, insisting that he was “just being honest.”

As of right now, Sarah has not publicly responded to Jeff‘s allegations.

If you missed it, Sarah recently opened up about enduring an abusive relationship.
