Tens of thousands of M&S Sparks members missing out on FREE gifts by not making easy move

0

TENS of thousands of M&S Sparks card members are missing out on free gifts by not making an easy move.

The upmarket supermarket’s loyalty card scheme frequently treats members to complimentary items, ranging from croissants and cookies to the ever-popular Percy Pigs.

We’ve listed all the retailers giving out freebies on your special day

Despite this, many shoppers are only now beginning to realise the true value of their M&S Sparks card.

Shockingly, nearly half of all members – amounting to tens of thousands – are forfeiting the opportunity to receive a free birthday gift.

Unlocking this treat is incredibly simple.

All customers need to do is update their Sparks profile with their date of birth.

Once this is done, they’ll receive a special birthday reward, which they have an entire month to claim.

The gift varies depending on spending habits and could include indulgent treats such as a luxury box of Belgian truffles, mini cupcakes, or a fresh bouquet of roses.

Alternatively, customers might receive fresh produce like grapes or blueberries, or even exclusive discounts such as a 20% off voucher or a £10 voucher to use across clothing and homeware.

Customers can scan a QR code in-store to quickly update their profile or simply log into the Sparks app to add their information.

A spokesperson for M&S said: “As part of Sparks, our customer reward scheme, we are delighted to be offering Sparks customers a birthday treat to help them celebrate.

“Customer will see this in their Sparks hub at the start of their birthday month.

“To make sure you don’t miss out be sure to update your date of birth in your Sparks profile.”

With Sparks, every time you shop at M&S, whether in-store or online, you have the chance to receive a reward.

Rewards include discounts on whole product ranges like homeware or money off individual items.

Any rewards are tailored to what each shopper buys.

For example, a shopper may be offered £2 off when they spend £15 on flowers and plants in-store.

We’ve also seen members getting 30p off iced tea and coffee in all M&S Cafes.

Sparks members are also rewarded with little “thank yous” – which equates to free treats and food.

Plus, one Sparks card customer is also picked at random every week to get their shopping for free.

M&S Sparks is free to sign up to, either via the M&S website or through the App Store or Google Play.

You’ll need to register with your name and email address before you can start redeeming rewards.

Once signed up, a member will be issued with a digital card on their app which can be scanned when shopping in-store.

How does the Sparks card compare to other loyalty schemes?

Tesco Clubcard members get one point for every £1 spent in-store and online or £1 per litre on fuel from supermarket’s petrol stations.

Each point is worth 1p in Tesco.

However, they are currently worth two times the amount when you convert them into vouchers for Tesco’s partners.

Clubcard shoppers also get cheaper prices on over 8,000 products thanks to Clubcard Prices.

Sainsbury’s Nectar customers can use their card to collect points, either on a smartphone app or with a physical card to collect and spend points.

You get a minimum of one point per £1 in stores and online at Sainsbury’s, plus bonus points are available on the Nectar app, via paper coupons at checkouts, or sent in the post.

You can also get one point for every litre of fuel at Sainsbury’s petrol stations.

One point is worth 0.5p when shopping with the retailer.

Sainsbury’s shoppers also get cheaper prices on 1,000s of products thanks to “Nectar Prices”.
