QPR 1st Supporters’ Trust has read the statement by QPR FC regarding online posts by majority shareholder Ruben Gnanalingam. While we acknowledge the apology and the sense of regret, we do wonder about the reasons for posting in the first place. It shows a naivety that is difficult to fathom.

QPR FC has a strong reputation of being inclusive and rejecting all prejudice. QPR 1st has been actively involved in many of the club’s initiatives. We support the club’s condemnation of all forms of prejudice and discrimination.

Ruben Gnanalingam as majority shareholder, has supported the club financially for many years. Prior to his involvement the club had years of instability. No QPR fan will want to return to those days. We hope that he has learnt from his actions: a press of a button can affect so many people and stain the reputation of organisations.
